squashing the stigma around bugs and blemishes
(7/25/24) Market farmers are constantly battling one pest or another, everything from bugs to birds, and they work hard to do so in a way that keeps us and our environment safe.
"Pest issues are just as seasonal as the veggies they prey on. Flea beetles, for instance, are at their worst in the summer months. So, if folks want to be in touch with local food and seasonal eating, embracing minor imperfections can deepen that connection to local growers and the challenges they face." -Pierce, Soft Step Farm.
